• Preferred Provider Organization (PPO): A PPO centers on the concept of a network. Similar to a PPO, an HMO requires a co-payment when visiting an in-network provider. But, unlike a PPO, an HMO will not pay for services you receive outside of the network. However, your insurance will usually only reimburse you for 50%-80% of your costs, and you may also have to pay a deductible or co-insurance.
